Libon

Libon is the work of Orange, promising "visual voicemail that does it all".  That means free Voice-over-IP calls and instant messaging, with a voicemail  feature to handle calls when you're not available to answer, with email  notifications and text messages.

[...] it's announcing that premium users are gaining some new features to widen the WhatsApp and Viber-rival's  appeal. If you have coughed up, then you'll be entitled to call more  than 30 extra countries, and those Libon Minutes can now be spent  contacting domestic landlines and mobiles, too...

For the very busy, this messaging and voicemail app is a must have. In one  sense it's like Skype or WhatsApp - it lets you make calls and send messages to  other people using Libon for free. But its USP is how it treats voicemail; if  you're in the awkward position of being away from the phone a lot but still  receiving lots of calls, Libon is great.

Orange, the mobile brand of France Telecom, launched a global free calling and texting application on Thursday, in direct competition with services such as Skype, WhatsApp and Viber [...] The apps allow users to communicate without using their voice or text allotments, leading some operators like KPN to complain about the hit to their bottom line...

Orange has recently launched a communication app called Libon for iOS devices. It is currently available in 90 countries. This app allows users to make HD voice calls, send text messages as well as create personalised voice mails, which can be made from the application itself...

Orange is well known to offer its own branded apps and services. Their latest gig is called Libon and it’s a VoIP app/service that features HD calls. Viber and Skype (to an extent) can also do this, but the carrier thinks its brand is powerful enough to entice a critical mass of users to try out Libon...
