The Policy was drafted in view of applicable legal and regulatory requirements, in particular the EU General Data Protection Regulation n° 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 (“GDPR”) and French Law <br>No 78-17 of 6 January 1978 (Loi Informatique & Libertés – “Data Protection Act”) in its current version (together, the “Applicable Laws”).

The Policy complements Libon’s Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions of Use, which can also be downloaded from the footer of Libon’s website. 1. Description of cookies

Cookies are small text files, often encrypted, that are stored in the web browser of your computer, smartphone, or tablet, i.e., the terminal used to access the internet.

Cookies are generated automatically when a user’s browser loads a website: the website sends information to the browser, which then creates a text file. Each time the user returns to the same website, the browser retrieves the text file and sends it to the website’s server, which can then read the information stored in it.

The said information can concern purely technical data (e.g., the browser used, the operating system via which the terminal accesses the internet, the screen resolution, etc.) or certain data of a personal nature such as, for example, browsing preferences if they concern a user who is an individual.

2. Data controller

Libon is the data controller for the processing of personal data by way of cookies on its website.

3. Types of cookies used or not used on Libon’s website

Several types of cookies can be identified according to their respective purpose:

  • - Technical cookies are automatically used when you browse the internet to facilitate and carry out certain functions. For example, a technical cookie can be used to memorise the replies entered in a form or the user’s preferences in terms of language or the way a website is displayed, when such options are available. Technical cookies are not subject to obtaining the user’s consent.
  • - Marketing cookies can be created by social networks to enable web designers to share the content of their website on those networks. These cookies can be used, in particular, by social networks to track users' browsing habits on the websites concerned, whether or not they use such cookies. One of the aims is to display content of specific interest to you.
  • - Advertising cookies can be created not only by the website that a user is browsing, but also by other websites displaying ads, widgets or other items on the page browsed. These cookies can be used, in particular, to do targeted advertising, i.e., advertising based on a user's browsing habits.
  • - Statistical cookies are created by statistical and audience measurement tools. By collecting and providing information on an anonymous basis, these cookies enable us to understand how you interact with our website.

5. How to configure cookies via a web browser

Even if the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL) now requires consent to be obtained cookie by cookie or purpose by purpose, which can be done via the cookie management module edited by AXEPTIO, Libon’s partner, browser software editors still offer a cookie management function in their browsers.

The method varies depending on the currently most used browsers and their version. Concerning the main browsers on the market, the procedure for configuring your browser and potentially blocking all or part of the cookies is set out below. The procedure can change over time when the software is updated. We advise you to consult the pages dedicated to cookies published by these browser software editors to view the latest version.

a. If you are using Microsoft Edge

To open the browser, click the “Start” button, then “Edge”. Click the “Tools” button, then “Internet Options”. Click the “Privacy” tab, then “Settings”, then move the cursor upwards to block all cookies or downwards to accept all cookies, then click “OK”. Blocking the cookies can prevent the proper display of certain webpages.

b. If you are using Mozilla Firefox

Select the "Preferences" menu, then the "Privacy" panel. In the “History” section, select the option "Firefox will use custom settings for history". Then click the "Accept cookies" box to activate cookies or unclick it to refuse them.

Firefox also gives you the option of defining how long cookies are stored and, for example, deleting them when you close the browser.

c. If you use the Safari browser (macOS or iOS)

By default, Safari only accepts cookies and website data from sites you've visited. You can modify your preferences so that Safari systematically accepts or blocks cookies and other website data.

Select the cookies you want to delete and click "Delete". After deleting the cookies, click "Done".

To delete cookies if you are using Safari with iOS 12 or later versions, select "Settings", "Safari", then "Clear history and website data". To delete other stored information, select “Settings”, “Safari”, “Advanced”, “Website data”, and lastly “Delete all website data”.

b. If you are using Mozilla Firefox

Go to the "Tools" tab in the browser and select the "Options" menu. In the window that pops up, select the “Privacy” tab, and click “Display cookies”. Look for the files you want to delete. Select them and delete them.
